Hello,

I'm running WinVNC 3.3.4 server as a service on an XP Pro box with the
latest service packs. The XP box is part of a networked workgroup, so the
Fast User Switching "feature" (which I gather causes problems) is turned
off. I'm connecting to it with a client on a sun solaris X machine (x2vnc
1.4). I've only recently upgraded the windows box from one which ran Win
2000 and the connection used to work fine, but now in XP I get the following
problem:

What happens is the windows box stops receiving input from the keyboard.
The mouse still works normally, but typing does nothing except jump the
mouse cursor around a bit. Its not the problem with option keys getting
stuck down - that happens too, but then the mouse behaviour changes as
well. I can fix it temporarily by waving the mouse around on the windows
box and holding down a key; eventually it finds a "magic spot" where the
input works again, and generally keeps working until I click the mouse
somewhere else. The behaviour is application independent - I've seen it in
the OS, and a good half a dozen apps as well.

I get the missing wallpaper problem when I connect too, but I'm not too
fussed about it; if anybody has a solution that doesn't involve hacking
source code (I looked through the archives but couldn't find one) I'd be
happy for a pointer to that also.

         - rob.
