I wouldn't go as far as say I'd like to pay for vnc... Yet... 8-)

For starters, I live in sweden and the vnc-environment I speak
about is for windows 2k.

Anyway, I had the same problem some year ago when I found out about
vnc and wanted to introduce it on the department. At first there
was some gruffing and protests about me possibly spying on what
they were doing, but at the time I couldnt' do more than assure
them I wouldn't log in to a remote session w/o asking first, beside
the usual ethics in privacy etc. I usually don't ask for permission
though, if the first check with psloggedon shows that nobody is
logged on on the remote system.

Almost two years have passed now. Nobody complains whatsoever,
except for the new phd-students and new personnel, who haven't
encountered vnc before. Most everybody has come to expect me to be
able to remote login to theur computers in order to be shown
exactly what they have problem with on their computers. I'd even
go so far as saying that the users would be greatly disappointed if
they couldn't show me specifically.

Everybody loves vnc over here, and more or less take for granted.
Also my bosses like that I can sit at home and offer off-hour
support (billed of course 8-) by way of vnc.

In short vnc has become indespensable, and yes, we have the icon
showing on the tray.

My five swedish oere.
