This is probably the wrong place to ask this question but maybe somehere can point me in the right direction. There is a program called NeoTrace Express. Which will take and ip address you input, do bascially a trace route from source to destination ip and then graphically show you on a world or usa map all the routors that the packet went thru to get from source to destination. The trace route part is easy. Any OS worth its salt has a textual traceroute program. What I was wondering is how the program would match up the ip addresses of the routers along to path to cites or I should say geographical locations??? I am trying to do something similar but using VRML and Java but I am stumped on how to get the locations.
