Hi Harry,
I tried to reproduce your problem using text in Notepad and again in
WordPad with:
- the WinVNC 3.3.4 (Win98) client against a TightVNC 1.2.2 (Win98SE) server
- the TightVNC 1.2.2 (Win98) client against a TightVNC 1.2.2 (Win98SE) server
- the WinVNC 3.3.3 (Win98SE) client against WinVNC 3.3.4 (Win98) server.
In both cases I could highlight text using the arrow keys (either set)
while pressing the either of the shift keys.
Another way to do it using *using the mouse* but without dragging is to
place the cursor at your starting point, hold the shift key and click the
end point. Everything in between will get highlighted in one shot.
Is the problem application specific? Perhaps it has something to do with
Windows 2000. I my test was also done over a LAN connection. Perhaps it is
only a problem over slower connections.
Sorry I could not reproduce your problem.
Michael
