Hey all,
So, I have vncserver running on a linux (redhat) box, andI connect the
viewer from a windows 2000 box....

on the linux end, my home directory is afs mounted with 24 hour token
life....

so, I can open a connection and open/close it as often as i like, it is
just fine....

but somedays when I come back to work in the morning I cannot
reconnect... i get the "authentication failure" response....
the server is still running and active....

if I kill it and restart, everything is fine (except that I have to
reopen evcerything I was in the middle of), so it is not the
passsword.....

I had suspected that it had something to do with the afs token deining
in the middle of the night and somehow the server gets into a bad state
since it could no longer write to the directory,.,,,, but before
leaving work i'm making a point of getting a new token, and the problem
keeps haappening....
and the final thing is that it seems unpredicatable... some mornings
it works just fine!!

argh.

any suggestions?

thanks
Thomas Willeke
