I would suggest that when a message is sent to a distribution list, the list should cause the message to contain this line in the header... Precedence: bulk ...and the autoresponder program should detect that line and not send a reply at all. Why should a reply to go the poster? It certainly should not! If I'm on a list with 8,000 subscribers and 100 are on vacation, should I want to receive 100 notifications? No. Most messages coming through the [EMAIL PROTECTED] have Precedence set to bulk, but the message from Erik Parker had this setting: Precedence: first-class Why is that? Doesn't vnc-list fix the Precedence on messages it distributes? It ought to.
