James, I'm sure the programs aren't crashing. As soon as VNC is out of the picture things run fine. We've also never seen this behaviour before runing 3.3.4/5 which has been only a few days (in the case of the customer system it's happening on). We have corporate anti-virus which runs automatically, but I don't know what's on the customer side... To me, it just wouldn't make sense for an actual virus to only have an affect when VNC is running...
One recent occurrance to add to the mix: We had previously only seen the problem connecting to one of our customer accounts who had all XP systems. Last night, I tried to connect to my PC at work and received the same problem!! This was a complete shock, to say the least, considering all the testing we had done, and a problem had never come up on a 98 viewer connecting to a 98 server (which is my case). I am running 3.3.5 at home and at work. I really thought I had it narrowed down, but now am at a complete loss. I have been running 3.3.4/3.3.5 on my own work PC for as long as they have been out, and have *never* had this problem until now. I can only assume my work PC has been 'infected' with whatever it is that is causing this problem...could it be some conflict with another version of vnc? I was switching them quite a bit during testing...
