Hi Glenn, I am using Autocutsel (version 06). Autocutsel uses xcutsel under the hood. Anyway I think that it may well be down to using a mix of older x utilities with newer CDE utilities.
(see http://lepton.fr/tools/autocutsel/) Generally if I only do cut/paste between PC > xterm > PC it works ok. It seems I have problems when cutting/pasting from my preferred text editor in Unix, which is 'nedit'. I know this has been around for some time and so maybe I need to find myself a newer editor with the same functionality but which is more compatible with CDE. If I don't have any success finding an alternative editor I may be back to ask for help on using xclipboard or xcutsel, regards, Kevin -----Original Message----- From: Glenn Lovitz [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2002 12:35 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: 3.3.5: Solaris7&8, cut/paste buffers not working Kevin, Your problem is the X-applications and the selection they use for cut and paste: CLIPBOARD, PRIMARY, or CUT_BUFFER0. This can be a problem on Solaris itself if you mix and match older x utilities with newer CDE utilities. Example, "xterm" (AND Xvnc) use CUT_BUFFER0, while "dtterm" uses PRIMARY. I often use xclipboard or xcutsel to facilitate copying between applications as well as between windows and Xvnc. Xvnc rules of thumb using xcutsel: ================================== NO copy from Windows to Xvnc --> "copy 0 to PRIMARY" No copy from Xvnc to Windows --> "copy PRIMARY to 0" Regards, Glenn Lovitz > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On > Behalf Of Kevin Minney > Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2002 10:51 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: 3.3.5: Solaris7&8, cut/paste buffers not working > > > Can someone please help me with this cut/paste buffer > problem?
