Forwarding port 5800 only gives you access to the web server that gives
you the java applet.  You still need to forward port 5900 for VNC to
talk over.

JVM = Java Virtual Machine.  Due to some legal issues with Sun,
Microsoft has been doing an on-again, off-again with it's JVM included
with IE.  Of course since you were getting a java error you have a JVM,
it is just a matter of if it is from Sun or Microsoft.

Since you don't have the ports forwarded, though, that is the problem.
