You mean 300 users accessing their own Xvnc server? I regard that as impossible due to the port numbers to use. The first major border is at 64 users: Only port 6000 trough 6063 are reserved for X11 hence display :0 trough :63. Then there is at 99 users, the rfb portnumber (5999) runs in to the X11 portnumber 6000. Or do you mean 300 users to view a single Xvnc server? I hope there is no build in boundary. If there is and you reach it at 300, I regard that as reasonably high: Each connection gets its own data for the screen update. Even over a gigabit connection, it will congest the connection. Or do you mean 300 users that might login but not that much concurrently? Then http://www.sourcecodecorner.com/articles/vnc/linux.asp is a solution. I think for commecial unix implementations, you only need to adapt /etc/services and /etc/inetd.conf and restart inetd.
