I rebooted the server and tried to connect to the server from the VNCViewer
several times but continued to get the message FAILED TO CONNECT TO SERVER.

I tried the following combinations:

oneofxeon:2

oneofxeon

oneofxeon:5952

oneofxeon.fully qualified domain name:2

oneofxeon.fully qualified domain name:5952

What now?

see http://www.sourcecodecorner.com/articles/vnc/linux.asp
<http://www.sourcecodecorner.com/articles/vnc/linux.asp> . It's a nice setup
for vnc. THen it enables XDMCP for remote usage (default off in RH) and in
the end it restarts the needed services (inetd or xinetd).
