I still can't seem to get this working. Here's the
scoop on my setup:

- Linksys router behind a motorola surboard cable
modem connected to Comacst high speed internet
- Server is a win98se wired from the router's built in
switch. It's LAN IP is 192.168.1.3
- Laptop 1 is connected via wireless pc card, address
is 192.168.1.2
- Laptop 2 is wireless as well with IP 192.168.1.4

Problem 1:
Can't even telnet from the laptops to the server using
telnet 192.168.1.3 5900. Can't use VNC viewers to
connect to it either altough the server registers just
fine. I also went so far as to get a host to manage
my not so dynamic ip address with no-ip.com.

Ports 5900 and 5800 are forwarded to the server's lan
address, 192.168.1.3

Problem 2:
When I connect to the url provided by my no-ip.com
service, name.myvnc.com or my WAN IP, I get a login
prompt for my router's admin settings.... just as if i
typed in 192.168.1.1 from within my LAN. So that does
me no good - I don't need to remotely manage my
routers settings although I thought that was cool.
Whatsmore is that I actually have remote management
disabled under the filters tab of my routers settings.
Hopefully this will give a hint as to what I'm doing
wrong.

Can anyone help?! Thanks to tony and bruce for the
intial help.

Your expertise is greatly appreciated team.

Down and out in Albuquerque,

Lorenzo
