Run /usr/dt/bin/Xsession. I'm afraid I can't tell you what's happening with the other problems. Killing just your session may be sufficient (look for the process /usr/dt/bin/Xsession, as above), and does not require root privileges. If that doesn't work, then killing Xsun should do it (but that does require root). When this happens, does the mouse still move? Does the Caps Lock and Num Lock keys still light? If so, then some application has the server exclusively. Try killing processes until you regain control, and then you can identify the rogue process. Unfortunately, that may not help much, but at least it'll give us more information. > Finally, if I run a server on my windows machine, then when I try starting > up a viewer on solaris, I get a bus error. What does the viewer print before crashing? It may be a colourmap problem. - -- Grant McDorman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, Sr. Software Design Consultant Cedara Software Corp. <URL:http://www.cedara.com> (formerly I.S.G. Technologies Inc.)
