I have been playing with a silent install of v.3.3.6 without much
success. I found that 3.3.6 does not seem to support making an *.iss
install file. (I never had much success deploying it on version 3.3.3
anyway.) I had ended up making a batch file for installation on win9X
machines that copied the program and shortcuts into the appropriate folders
and then ran an *.reg file for all the settings and hooks. It worked well.
Now I have made a new one for 3.3.6 for use on Win9X machines that
also works well. Problem is, my company is finally starting to do some
serious upgrading to Win2K. I did a regular install (on a test bed) and
manually put in my settings, then exported all the keys with "VNC" to an
*.reg file. When I try to import the *.reg file, it chokes on the
[HKey_loal_machine\system\controlset00x\enum\root\legacy_winvnc] and
everything within. It seems to be a security issue. I am far from being
an expert on registry hacking. I think this is where it is established as
a service.
Is there another way to establish it as a service?
Does Fastpush work around this issue?
Any suggestions?
Have a Good Day,
Michael L.
