I do not know if anyone has encountered this issue. When running RealVNC viewer, using the auto-select feature of Encoding, etc., the line speed estimate for connections through a RealVNC server shows up as zero -- hence, it uses 8-bit color, etc. When I connect to a server that was started using tightVNC, it RealVNC viewer has no problem detecting the line speed. I am presently running the servers and viewers on a 10mb+ intranet.
