Further to my last message on this topic, where I posted the Windows XP event log entry for the WinVNC service crash, I said I'd track down the WinVNC debug log entries ...
Unfortunately, there aren't any! The last entries in the WinVNC.log.bak are from the last session before the crash, and the entries in WinVNC.log are from the successful connection afterwards! I've got Debug level 10 selected in the registry. This problem is happening to me on the first WinVNC connection attempt after a Windows XP reboot. From the viewer, I get prompted for a password and then see the message about attempting to get initial screen (or somesuch) and then nothing further happens. My workaround for the moment is to set the WinVNC service to automatically restart after it's first failure. D> __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
