If it's a Windows computer, look in the windows registry under either:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default

or

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default

in there there may be a DWORD value called AllowProperties.
If there is, either delete it or change the value to 1, then exit the VNC
program and restart it, you should have access to the default password
and should be able to change it.

Subject: Passwords

VNC is now not accepting connections, and says the password supplied is not accepted.

I log into the server directly to change the passwords, and I am logged in as the
administrator, but I am not allowed to change the details, I get a message stating
that VNC is configured with the default settings and only a system administrator can
change these settings.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Best regards
Mark Degg
