I myself am back to this problem again, it is simple to hide the tray icon, you just edit the proper registry entry.
local computer > software > microsoft > windows > current version > run and just delete the key... BUT. i have been having trouble getting the wallpaper to restore when someone disconnects, and i have finally figured out why. if the service helper is running, then upon disconnect it reappers, but if the service helper is not running then the wallpaper will not reappear. which brings me back to this, is there a way to hide the icon with the service helper still being able to run, this is my personal machine and is the only one i have vnc running on, and i dont really like to have extra things in the system tray that i dont need there. i have seen commercial products to hide system tray items, but it's not that important to me. however if there is a free way to do it, i would sure like to know ted ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Cassady" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, January 28, 2003 12:42 PM Subject: RE: hide icon task > On Tue, 28 Jan 2003, William Hooper wrote: > > > Date: Tue, 28 Jan 2003 10:46:35 -0500 > > > > -----Original Message----- > > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of > > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > How I can hide the icon on the system tray?? > > > > > > Please anybody help me. > > > > > > Thanks, > > > Gustavo > > > > http://www.realvnc.com/faq.html#hide > > Well, the suggestion in the FAQ to recompile the code would discourage > me.
