Hi,

I have a laptop with a keyboard that is not responding and thanks to VNC, I am
able to access its desktop from another computer.

Since then, I accidentally suspended my laptop (w2k) and started it up again.
It is now at the "Computer Locked" Ctrl-Alt-Del screen.

The laptop responds to a ping, and I've tried the following:

- VNC Windows Client -- It connects to the server, requests a password, I type
my password in, the password dialog box disappears and a client windows pops
up for a fraction of a second. Here is the logifle:

Connected to 10.0.1.2 port 5900
RFB server supports protocol version 3.3
Connected to RFB server, using protocol version 3.3
VNC authentication succeeded
Desktop name "extremes"
rdr::Exception: rdr::SystemException: read: Unknown error (10054)

If I try again, the window does not pop up and results in a different
exception:

C:\Program Files\RealVNC>vncviewer -logfile foo 10.0.1.2
C:\Program Files\RealVNC>type foo
Connected to 10.0.1.2 port 5900
RFB server supports protocol version 3.3
Connected to RFB server, using protocol version 3.3
VNC authentication succeeded
rdr::Exception: rdr::EndOfStream

- VNC Java Client -- I am able to connect to port 5800. The applet starts and
requests a password. I type my password in and get a "java.io.EOFException"
error in the applet window.

I do not want to reboot my computer because I know this may be my last
opportunity to reconfigure my laptop and create file shares for critical
folders.

If anyone could please suggest an idea or two, it would be very helpful in
getting access to files I depend on. I did not find anything in the VNC FAQ
or mailing list archives.

Thanks!
Chinarut
