First and now two machines are displaying the same symptoms and now allowing me to access them. The symptoms are:
* When I try to log in, the following happens: * I am able to get to the password authentication dialog box, but after clicking OK, the server's window screen "flashes on" for a second and then disappears. Subsequent attempts after that get a dialog box stating that the "Connection closed." * I am able to connect to one of those servers and it is successful. But when I try to connect with the other one, I get booted from the first and the other connection disappears too. I then get the same "Connection closed." message. * When someone at the remote site, logs into either of those two machines, I am able to connect to them, but I am unable to send a CNTL ALT DEL from the VNC menu to those two machines. Also, when ever I close out the connection or they lock those machines there, I am unable to reestablish the connection, except with the results as shown above. * When I check the VNC service, it shows the service as not being on, but when I or someone else clicks to start it, we get a message stating that the service is already running. One of them exhibited the same problems after it was shutdown for some unknown reason, which produced a Dr. Watson error. After a couple of weeks, the application started running fine again without any problems. On the other server, the problems started after someone inadvertently bumped the power switch and shut the server down. I rely up VNC to do remote support of an East Coast office (US) from my office in the West Coast (also US). This is extremely frustrating. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
