Hi, Thanks for your help. vncserver runs OK now. And I looked at the article you reference, it's exactly what I'd like to do, so I'll try it on a "spare" machine and hope I don't completely screw things up. (and it's written for RH7.3, I hope it doesn't matter if I am using 8.0)
I apologize for my next question, it's off topic and I'm a newbie: Meanwhile, when I run the rsh command, I get Connection Refused. I have rsh enabled and I restarted xinetd (using RH Service Configuration panel). I tried run rsh both as a user and as root. Any ideas why I can't rsh to localhost? jonathan. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Beerse, Corni" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'Jonathan Linowes'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, February 10, 2003 4:56 AM Subject: RE: kde desktop > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Jonathan Linowes [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > > Sent: maandag 10 februari 2003 10:15 > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: kde desktop > > > > > > hi again, > > I have another machine with RH 8.0 linux running kde desktop. > > I modified the ~/.vnc/xstartup file and replaced the xterm line with > > startkde& > > Should have replaced the "twm&" line.
