Hi,
I need to set up VNC server in the way that it will allow one user
full access to applications and all other (mostly using java
client) users only view-only access.
I see that in current VNC server one can turn input events on/off
only for all clients regardless of their password or host they
connecting from and etc.
Is there any way to work around this problem?
Any proxy, stripping input events commands?
Sergey.
P.S. We found 2 possible ways which are not really good for different
reasons:
1. Rewrite Java client so it can't send any keyboard/mouse events to
server. It's not good, because anyone can use normal client and get
full access.
2. Use 2 VNC servers on different computers - one view-only which runs
only VNC client connected to another (full access) server. So users
who needs view-only access can connect to the first server and full
access users can connect to the second one. This is not good too,
because running two VNC servers is using too much resources.
I'm surprised that authorization schemes and options for such a good
software is so simple.
