Hi, Richard,

I haven't experienced such crashes for a while.
I am still running vncservers always on the sun box.
The things I'm doing differently now are:

    1. Hardly ever connect to the servers from a
           sun box.

    2. All vncservers are depth 24.

    3. Replaced ZoneAlarm firewall with Kerio
firewall (this was the major factor!). Too
bad, the ZA interface was nice and simple.

I am mostly connecting from a viewer that runs on
Win2K. The viewer option there is always to restrict
pixels to 8 bits for bandwidth efficiency. I am still
tunnelling the connection over Cygwin's OpenSSH.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar enough with linux to
recognize the various terminology associated with
it (aside from the fact that Gnome has something to
do with the windowing system). But maybe the above
details might help?

Fred
