I don't know if this is related but I have another problem related to KDE on
linux and VNC.
While playing with it, I got a pop up box which says
"There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The
message returned by the system was: Could not open network socket. Please
check that "dcopserver" program is running."

Then a little later, when I try to open a new Konsole windows, it will not
open and I get the message "KLauncher could not be reached by DCOP".

I get this error even when I input directly into the server machine, not
using vncviewer.
(I never had this problem until I installed vncserver; and I don't know what
DCOP is).

any ideas?
