I just wanted to mention that I have been running realvnc server on a win98se system (among others) and have been experiencing random crashes of the vnc server. It seems to be known that there are issues with unexpected crashes with the current version of realvnc. On this particular system, I have found a cause for the random crashes.
This system is running a copy of Mcafee 7.0 home edition with the auto updater running in the background that periodically checks for updates, and if found, installs them automatically. I've discovered that if the auto updater updates the mcafee application, it causes vnc to crash when it stops the mcafee application and restarts the updated version. The crash occurs everytime the application is updated. I disabled the auto update feature and vnc server has not crashed since. If I manually run the updater, vnc will crash and have to be restarted. Just thought I would pass this along. Glenn Skinner _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
