We will typically open a notepad window to type our messages. Again, not a
nice interface, plus you MUST take turns 'talking', but it does get the job
done!

If we are talking Windows and they are on the same network you can always
use net send. Not the nicest interface, but it is on every Windows PC and
enabled by default.
