Hi, I am currently using Xvnc on different platforms, for launching a display on which I will take some snapshots of a tool window, and trying to ensure that this tool displays the same on HP, Sun, Linux etc.
The point is that if I take a snapshot (using xwd) of this tool running on hp, and then of the same tool running on Sun for example I get the following results: - if the display is a normal workstation display (xxx:0) on which I run both tests, the snapshots are identical. - if I launch Xvnc on HP for the HP test and Xvnc on Sun for the Sun test, the photos are visually nearly identical, but actually not. By executing a diff on both snapshots, we can see that the color differ very slightly. I already thought that the rgb settings could have an influence, and I used -co option of Xvnc to get rid of this influence, but it did not work, snapshots, were still different. Does anybody have an idea how to get exactly the same results? Is there any pixel/color translation done within Xvnc? This would help me a lot, I already searched in many directions...
