Windows Client to Redhat 8 VNC

I have installed Redhats version of VNC and started the sewrver on 
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1  and now have installed the client on windows , when I run 
the client and try to log in asks for the password , after entering the 
password it logs in ok but now it just shows the grey screen and the X 
cursor , need some guidence here , how to i get to log into something like 
KDE desktop
