I'm delighted with realVNC which I discovered only a few weeks ago. I have been sitting in my Hotel in San Antonio Texas watching the progress of a number crunching program running on my in my study in London. But I had a problem after the program crashed and I tried to restart it. I typed the name of the program in the remote DOS box, but then the display hung up and I started getting images of the cursor all over the screen. I tried resetting the properties of the DOS box remotely, and I did once get the program to start, but have not been able to repeat it. When I got my son to start the program at home I could see the whole process perfectly. Does anyone know what is going on?
The laptop runs Windows98, the home machine is XPpro, and the program is 32-bit protected mode (Lahey fortran 90 compiler) Some related questions. (1) Is there any way that I can make RealVPN see the remote machine when it is running whole-screen DOS, possibly with (VGA) graphics? (2) RealVPN does not seem to work with XP if the XP machine is waiting for a user to log in. Is there any way round this limitation.?
