Hi,

I got my RealVNC T-shirt last week. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I'm having a problem that is probably related to the first
question in the troubleshooting document:
http://realvnc.com/troubleshooting.html

It says: "VNC will work with XP provided that Fast User Switching and
Remote Administration are not used. Windows XP uses the Terminal Services
system to implement Fast User Switching and Remote Administration. This is
not compatible with the current release of VNC, but will be supported
better in a future release."

On my Windows XP system at work, Fast User Switching is disabled, and as
far as I can tell, Remote Administration is disabled, as well. However, I
can only connect to this system when it is logged off (i.e. showing the
Welcome screen). As soon as anyone logs on, the WinVNC server starts
accepting connections. Note that I have installed the WinVNC service, and
as far as I can tell it is running. (Trying to register the WinVNC service
produces an error saying the service has already been registered.)

The interesting thing is that my Windows 2000 system does not have this
problem. I've installed the WinVNC server on this system, which is on the
same LAN as my Windows XP system, and it will accept connections even when
the user has logged off.

Is this a known bug in WinVNC on XP? (I'm using 3.3.7.) Or is there
something I can do to fix it on my end?

Thanks,

Trevor
