Hi, i posted a patch quite a long time ago for vnc-3.3.3r2 (unix-sources only) implementing the possibility to set several passwords with possibly assigned attributes view-only and shared with these properties enforced on the server side. The patch furthermore changes the password to be up to 16 characters and the encryption to 3DES, cause 64 Bit DES is ridiculous today. i adapted the patch up to 3.3.7 and if there was the slightest chance to have the stuff included into the distribution, i'd have posted it again and again. The problem is, that the authencitation mechanism had to change for ALL existing viewers and all other platforms VNC supports, so chances are quite low, that here something will change, though i think the original authentication stuff is no longer acceptable today.
