Hi Tristan,

And thanks for your help. It helped.
Now I've got a second problem.

As I mentioned before I've created a solaris package containing the vnc software (I
use solaris 8). What we want to use the vnc for, is
to start the HP OV NNM as a background process. I install my package (vnc-package) as
root and installation is performed successfully.
Then I start the vncserver using:

# vncserver -localhost:1

This step is performed sucessfully too. Then I update the /.vnc/xstartup file by
adding the command "ovw &"
to the file (this will enable the NNM to start as a background process).

Now, the problem is that when I start the viewer on the server, i.e. where my package
is installed to test the
package using:

# vncviewer

I get the following message:

vncviewer:ConnectToTcpAddr:connect:connection refused

I,v tried even "vncviewer <hostname>:1" and "vncviewer <ip-addr.>:1" but nothing
happens, i.e. I get the message:

couldn't convert 'hostname' to host address

I wonder if you guys could help me with this issue too?

Best Regards
/Shapour
