I have read the archived discussion regarding configuration of Linksys
wireless routers to allow for remote desktop access, but I think I have
a new issue.

I am trying to connect from both home and work on my Palm Tungsten C to
the WinVNC Server running on my desktop machine, which has a Road Runner
broadband connection and which also is connected to a Linksys 4 port
wireless router.

The IP of the desktop running the server software is 192.168.1.100, and
I have set the router to forward port 5900 traffic to that IP address.

However, when I attempt the connection from my Palm, I get the following
error message:

Opening the network.... Skipped
Connecting to 24.74.154.129 (the IP assigned to my desktop machine by
Road Runner)

192.168.1.199:5900...
Connect to TcpAddr:cannot connect
Unable to connect to "24.74.154.129

192.168.1.199":5900
ERRORL cannot connect to
24.74.154.129

192.168.1.199:5900

So why is it trying to connect to 192.168.1.199:5900 when the server is
at xxx.xxx.1.100? What can I do to correct this connection problem? Many
thanks.
