Thank you, very much! For a little bit there, I thought I had asked a
really dumb question. Looks like they are doing something similiar to what
I was thinking of doing. I was thinking of trying a little p2p, maybe jxta
and ssl with VNC.

When asked to, my modified VNC servers would be able to broadcast an open
channel to a resolution space connected to the internet, similiar to a
dashboard of who's available. A person could then use the broadcasted
channels from the dashboard to remote control PCs for maintenance,
monitoring, software installation etc... whatever was needed. Without
regard for physical location on either side. And the communications would
be protected inately by ssl. I can create my own ssl certs for this.

It's nice to know it's possible.

Cheers,

-Colin

For Windows, yes.

http://www.laplink.com/products/lle/RC.asp

It uses SSL for all connections other than from localhost.
Links to the source are near the bottom of the page.

You'd need a real certificate to be truly secure...

Enjoy, Orin.
