We are having a problem with using VNC with W2K Server. The sever in question is an IBM Netfinity 5500 with dual 600 MHz processors and 512 M memory.
We are trying to move processes from a Windows 9x machine to the W2K machine for stability. When running the VNC services on a Windows 9x machine (single Pentium 100Mhz 64M memory) and running ProComm Aspect scripts I am not having any issues with refresh or operation of the computer. When we try running the same version of ProComm Aspect scripts on the W2K Server the second CPU stays at 100%. We thought the issue was with ProComm but when I shutdown the ProComm the second CPU stays at above 90% utilization. The Task Manager shows that winvnc.exe is the CPU hog. We have already gone through the FAQ and this discussion group postings and have not found any specific solutions. Is there a known issue with W2K Server? Any ides?
