You won't find the "AllowProperties" setting because it's not created by default. You
will need to manually add it
to the registry in HKLM\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default Simply create a DWORD Value with
the name
"AllowProperties" and set the value to 0 to stop users from accessing the properties
menu.

Subject: Setting "AllowProperties"

Hi all,

I'm a newbie who just installed my first VNC server (using TightVNC) on one machine
and the viewer on a second - incredibly easy, it worked the first time. I've read the
doc but cannot figure out how to configure the server so the users will not be able to
change password or disable clients, etc.

The doc says there is a setting "AllowProperties" in the registry. I've even run a
search in the registry and cannot find that setting anywhere. I even rebooted in case
the registry hadn't yet "found" the new information. No luck.

Can someone please explain how to do this?

Thanks.
