Not sure of the terms you mentioned,
below is what I get on the unix side when I start,
so I'm using "dpsanter2:1"


$ vncserver


New 'IBM RISC - dpsanter2' desktop is dpsanter2:1

p.s. I just tied the share option and still not working ...

Are you trying to connect via ip address or dns entry? If dns try IP.
The only other thing I can think of is that the vncserver already has
someone connected.?. Try share option from the vncviewer.?.
