Hello

I got new information.

In fact, the problem seems to be due to both Xfree4 and KDE3.1.
The new KDE 3.1 environment (display manager and desktop) uses new functions
of Xfree4 (maybe such as RENDER and GLX, but I'am not an expert).
Because these requested functions are not supported by Xvnc V4 beta 3 (and
of course by Xvnc V3), KDE 3.1 can not be run from Xvnc.

To confirm my feeling I downloaded xf4vnc
(http://xf4vnc.sourceforge.net/download.html) which annouces a full
compatibily with Xfree4. And it works... I got a KDE3.1 running from xf4vnc.

So my question is:
Do you plan to be full-compliant with Xfree4? If yes, when a beta version
will be available

Thank you

Vincent

Objet : Xvnc, Mandrake 9.1 and KDE 3.1

Hello

I got a problem to run KDE with Mandrake 9.1

With the former Mandrake version (9.0), it was possible to start the KDE
desktop (V3.0) from a Xvnc server by invoking "/usr/bin/startkde". Error
messages (see below) are displayed but it works.
With Mandrake 9.1, it doesn't work. (some garbages are displayed but at the
end no desktop is correctly displayed). The KDE desktop version is now 3.1.
Error messages (see below) are displayed.

I tested with the VNC 4 beta 3 version and the problem remains.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Vincent
