the default vnc stuff didn't work on my linux system at work. I had to
put in the command
gnome-session to get it to start. if you get an error saying you
already have a session started I think you also have to put in there
something like unsetunset SESSION_MANAGER

Hope this helps

What do you have in your xstartup file now? The
    xstartup provided by
    Red
    Hat does what you want.

I have updated vnc sence then adn i do not have the
origanal config found in red hat 8.0 . I found in the
arachives taht if you deleate the xstartup file vnc
will make a new on ehtat starts just a x term. so
thats what i have now. Does anyone have the script
that starts a gnome desktop like that that comes wiht
red hat 8.0? also is it possable to share desktop :0
as i just look at the same desktop as i have on my
    local machine.
