Your post asked "Is this information factual". I responded that the poster (who's From line I preserved) should have RTFM, because it is documented. Now if it is still an issue with RealVNC 3.3.7+ is another factor all together. I also see no mention of what version/versions of VNC being used. As you have tested (which you didn't mention at all) using current versions of RealVNC the auto detection works fine.
