Your post asked "Is this information factual".  I responded that the
poster (who's From line I preserved) should have RTFM, because it is
documented.  Now if it is still an issue with RealVNC 3.3.7+ is another
factor all together.  I also see no mention of what version/versions of
VNC being used.

Again, depends on the version.  As you have tested (which you didn't
mention at all) using current versions of RealVNC the auto detection works
fine.  The OP might have been using an older version on one end that
wouldn't support auto detection.

Please grow a thicker skin.  No "crucifixion" meant, I was just pointing
out that it was covered in TFM.
