Okay here's my situation: My computer is on an apartment network with a
static IP address. There is a gateway/NAT router between us and the
outside world, but i'm not sure if there is any sort of firewall. I
want to be able to VNC into my computer from the school's networks to my
home machine. Question is this: Can I just find the gateway machine's
IP address and point VNCViewer to that, or do i need to specify my
machine's static IP somehow so it knows which to forward it to instead
of just broadcasting it all over the network? I'm not sure how subnets
are broken up in the network, would that make any difference? This is,
of course, all assuming that the NAT firewall will forward the ports i
need, but i think it will...
