For the D-Link look under the advanced settings and check out the virtual server area. I would use static ips for the internal machines. I could not find the RT-314 on the netgear site.
For the ports it depends on the what you wish to connect. The 59xx range for normal connects, 58xx range for the java viewer in addition to the 59xx range. And the 55xx range for reverse connects. The xx infers the display number. Generally, you config a port on the router outside interface to forward to the port on the private ip of the machine with the server. I usually suggest checking the manual and/or faqs for your router on the topic of configuring a web server. The ports will change, but the basic config will be similar. The server address should be the outside ip given by the isp. Or, the dynamic ip you have set up at dyndns.org. Its hard to give exact specifics without you defining the installations exactly down to ip address, display numbers you will use, os choice, etc. If, you do not want to learn all the stuff to make this work, just call a local IT shop and have them do it. Most like myself need the work, otherwise you should be able to figure it out from what I mentioned above. Another hint is to config one machine and router and connect from the otherside, do not lose focus, just work to get that one working, then consider the other side's router. The router config is needed for receiving connections and not making them, so the viewer side should have no problem (unless you have drasticly changed the default filters). And use the www.gotomyvnc.com to test it. [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Ralf Luther) said: > I want to make a remote connection between two pc4s over the internet.
