I am trying to set up a vnc server on a Redhat 9 box. I got as far as getting gnome destop to run instead of the simple bank screen and xterminal. (changed the xstartup by adding line: /ect/X11/xdm/Xsession and commeniting everything else out) The problem with this is that the Gnome is already logged in as the user who started the vnc server. ( I star it from command promt with : vncserver) What I would like to do is to start vnc server automatically and when somebody cinnects, she/he should get the xlogin to type login name and password. I saw some messages from the beginning of this year about a similar issue, and followed the sugestions from there but still cold not get it to work. I guess it was for a different linux.. I am quite new to this OS so I could no figure out what to do.. any help is greatly appreciated.
