I've ever tried to start at boot VNC on Mandrake 9.1. I'm not a Guru so it's really hard when you want to setup your own listen port. The trick is to setup webmin that start at boot by default when you are installing Mandrake. You make a Custom command in the "other" panel under Webmin like this :
vncserver :xx -geometry 1024x768 and then, by a simple "click" Vncserver is up !
