Hello,

I too have had this problem. My setup:

Server= winxp English, TightVNC 1.2.9, French keyboard, FR/UK locales
installed for input
Client= win2k English, TightVNC 1.2.9, UK keyboard, US locale installed for
input

IIRC, the problem was intermittent, normally occurring after activation of
the screensaver or just after booting. At first I thought it was a
user/machine password problem. Then I ruled that out and started going mad
trying to understand what was happening. Then I figured it must be
something to do with different keyboards/input locales. The workaround
solution I found was to use passwords with letters that are in the same
place on both keyboards! Luckily this is not too hard with French and
English.

For now "forewarned is forearmed", however is this likely to be fixed?.
Anyway thanks to all the VNC teams for a great tool :)

Chris

P.s. Sorry for the late reply, this has been in my drafts for a little
while.

Subject: The solutions to my problem with international keyboards
From: Poseitun <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

You might want to hear what my solution was.

Problem:
Windows W2K
RealVNC 3.3.7
Norwegian keyboard
Dead Norwegian keys

I am sorry to say that I didn't get any answers. But I do understand that
this is a topic that has been discussed several times before. And thus,
probably will be asked several times in the future.

Anyway.
In Control panel > Regional Options > Input Locales: There has to be only
one locale available!
If not, I think they at least have to be sorted in the same order on both
server and client, but I did not verify this.

So in order to get hits on the mailing-list search for other newbies. :-)

-- Fix problem with international keyboards in windows.
-- Dead keys with windows.

For all you other out there, and the developers of VNC.
Its very good product. Keep up the work.

Regards
Jon Leirdal

PS: English is not my native language, so please excuse any typos and
grammatical errors.
