FYI-- I managed to solve the problem I reported to the VNC-List last week where I was not receiving reliable ECHO feedback in my remote DOS command window.
Changing display settings, and upgrading & downgrading VNC versions did not work as suggested. Rather, I simply clicked the VNC icon on the server and selected "Poll foreground window" in the "Update Handling" section. For some reason, none of the Update Handling choices had been selected.
