Hi all,
I know this is somewhat off topic, but I am sure one of you brainiacs will
know the answer. We have a GigE network here that is connected via at Cisco
6513 switch. We have set up 7 VLANs within the switch. The problem I am
having is mapping a network drive across the VLAN on a Win98 SE machine. I
have no problems using 'net use" on the Win2K machines - all is well, but
the 98 machine wants a password that I have tried including in the net use
syntax and manually entered when prompted, and the computer rejects a
legitimate password. As I said the Win2K machines work fine. I saw, what I
believe to be a related problem, when this computer was in the same VLAN as
the networked drive. It refused to let me have access to a network shared
drive if I tried to access it - same deal - asked for a password, but
rejected any I put in. I solved that by mapping the drive by giving the
windows path name in the mapping window rather than just selecting the PC in
"Network Neighborhood" and logging in - again same deal - Win2K machines let
me log in to another PC with a password entry as expected, but not this
pesky Win98SE machine.
Any suggestions?

PS. We are running VNC software very successfully on MAC OS9.x, OSX,
Win98SE, and Win2K machines.
