I guess I was hoping that since the Java viewer was running within the browser that 
the VM might inherit the browser proxy settings.  Maybe that was too optimistic :-)

If not, perhaps support for running RealVNC through an http proxy would be a good idea 
for a future version?

As a side question to this issue, I downloaded the source, however, I was unable to 
find the source for the java viewer in either of the source download packages.  anyone 
know where this is?  did I just miss it?  Perhaps adding support for going through an 
http proxy would be doable....

There is nothing different about the Java viewer with respect to proxies. 
It won't work through an HTTP proxy either.
