We developed an application using VNC to run interactive UNIX programs from a web browser. About 8-10 weeks ago it was running great. We stopped using it to plunge into the documentation mire. Recently, when we tried to get some screen snapshots, we discovered that it was broken - VNC window crash ( VNC log is listed below ). CVS indicates that no code changes have been made since the last time it worked correctly. Old logs do not show an AUDIT line. The Apache log indicates that xset, xhost, etc. can not open the display. Reverting to VNC 3.3.4 does not change things.
I suspect that a SysAdmin tightened up the security on something. Port 61289 is not valid for any thing that I know about and the port number changes each time. Note VNC still works when initiated from a UNIX command line and accessed via a browser. Research indicates that others have had similar problems but I can't locate any solution. Does anyone know what's causing this ?
