Hi All,

I have three different geographical locations with more than one computer in
each location. Each location has a router, from which I port map from the WAN
to the LAN, and out again.

For the VNC application, I am confused as to how to port map to more than one
computer behind the router. This is what I DO understand, so far:

1. Port 5900 is the default, with display '0'.
2. VNC allows you to use different port numbers for different machines.
3. You must change the display number in the vncserver as you change the port
number to any given machine.

So it would look like this:

port: 5900 id: 192.168.1.101 display: 0
port: 5901 id: 192.168.1.103 display: 1
port: 5902 id: 192.168.1.104 display:2

I guess you also have to change the port display setting in the windows
registry entry for vnc? It doesn't seem to change automatically just by
changing the display number in the vncserver.

etc.....

So here is my question: when I want to connect using vncviewer, what host
name do I type in? I've been using the public ip address for a location,
which works fine for one machine, but what about when I want to connect to
machine number 2 in the same location (that I have port mapped using a
different port number and display number)? What would it really look like for
the second machine:
example: (67.133.227.106:5901)?????

So far this format isn't working for me, don't know if it's right or wrong.

Thanks for any info!
Elke
